The University of Warsaw is offering an unpaid 40-hour intensive Polish language course.
The course is aimed at preparing international students for living, learning, working and enjoying living in Poland. Participants of the course will explore at the elementary level secrets of the Polish language and acquire knowledge of Polish culture essential to reside in Poland, eg. how to buy a ticket, order a coffee or lunch, how to find your way around UW and dealing with basic affairs and phrases essential for social life in Poland. This is a unique option to meet colleagues from all over the world before the start of the classes and feel confident with Polish before coming to University.
In this course, intended for students of last 4 semesters at the University of Warsaw, we offer:

Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
WHERE: the Main Campus of the University of Warsaw, 26/28 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.

‘Intensive Polish Language Course’ is organised within the Integrated Development Programme at the University of Warsaw and funded by European Social Fund. The objective, pursuing at the University of Warsaw between 2018-2022, is to develop competence of students and employees as well as implement the instruments which upgrade the management process of the University of Warsaw.
In 2 weeks, an extraordinary seminar will take place at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw. Seminar will be hosted by the world-renowned econometrician, co-author of the Jarque-Bera econometric test - Prof Anil Kumar Bera.
The meeting entitled "How to Assimilate Math, Stat and Econ for Econometrics Innovation: A Case Study of the First Nonlinear Model in Econometrics" will be held on 1 June at 3:00 pm in room A103 at Wydział Nauk Ekonomicznych, Uniwersytet Warszawski.

Last Tuesday, April 25, students of our international GlobalMBA program had the opportunity to visit and learn about the activities of another innovative company operating on the Polish and global business market in the area of sustainable development - Schneider Electric, a partner of the Faculty of Management, which, as part of our cooperation, recently equipped a new relaxation zone on the 4th floor in building C.

On April 17-19, we had a great pleasure to host at our Faculty meeting of directors and coordinators of the GlobalMBA program from partner universities of these international studies: TH Köln and the University of North Florida.
The GlobalMBA program is a unique study project with a double diploma (MA from TH Köln and UW and MBA from UNF), in which the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw has been involved for many years.
Each of the four stages of the program takes place at a different partner university: in addition to the mentioned TH Köln and the University of North Florida, students also have the opportunity to study at Kyungpook National University in South Korea. The visit of guests from partner universities involved in these studies was marked by numerous discussions and meetings with the UW and Faculty authorities, students and graduates of the program aimed at strengthening cooperation and continuous development of the studies ensuring its graduates success in following their chosen career path.

Timeline:
- 1 st round from Monday, 3 rd July to Saturday, 22th July 2023;

There are up to 50 seats available on a self-funded basis by paying a participation fee which is equal to EUR 550.00 and covers the following expenses:
- the cost of the Italian course (90hrs),
- three meals per day,
- accommodation in single, double or three bedded bedrooms directly at Palazzo Feltrinelli or Casa Bertolini,
- transport Milano Centrale / Gargnano with a bus stop at Milano Bergamo Airport,
- cultural activities.
We inform you that the Gargnano Scholarship 2023 is compatible with any other grant.
Last Monday, March 27, students of our international program GlobalMBA had the opportunity to visit a very special place on the map of Poland - the Center of Hearing and Speech MEDINCUS in Kajetany. This visit is part of a series of "business visits" which are an integral part of the GlobalMBA program, the purpose of which is to familiarize students of our unique international study project with various companies and institutions operating dynamically on the Polish business market.
On April 14, 15 and 22 the Faculty of Physics will host the next session of an Workshop on machine learning techniques for students and University researchers. The Workshop is organized by the Center for Machine Learning, established as part of the IDUB program. On February 1st, 2023, a team of researchers from the University of Warsaw's Faculty of Management, in collaboration with an international group of scientists and business practitioners, began a three-year research project (Horizon Europe CSA) dedicated to sustainable economics.
Under the HORIZON-CL6-2022-GOVERNANCE-01-04 (HE CSA) grant, scientists from seven European countries have started a three-year research program focused on tangible results for the global economy, such as standardization of communication on labels of biomass-based products or a communication model between producers and consumers aimed at making sustainable decisions regarding the production and purchase of goods made from biomass.
The project is being implemented at the Faculty of Management, which is represented in the project by a team of scientists consisting of Dr. Agnieszka Wiśniewska, Dr. Michał Mijal, Mgr. Edyta Barmentloo, Dr. hab. Prof. Ucz. Marcin Żemigała, Dr. Magdalena Marczewska, Dr. Katarzyna Liczmańska-Kopcewicz, and Mgr. Martyna Cieśla. The project's opening meeting took place in Helsinki.

Together with the Institute of Energy and the Energy Club, we invite you to the conference and presentation of the report entitled "Nuclear energy value chain in Poland".

The purpose of the analysis is to define the key success factors for the development of nuclear energy in Poland, as well as to assess the capabilities and define the conditions that must be met by domestic enterprises in order to optimally participate in this process (maximizing the share of the so-called local content).
The conclusions will allow the participants to outline scenarios for the development of nuclear energy, taking into account the changes in the structure of the use of various fuels and energy sources and the role of the so-called small and large atoms.
